Personalised and compassionate care for those that we look after and funerals that reflect each individual personality.

The Funeral Collective is a locally owned and operated Funeral Home that services the families of the North West Coast of Tasmania.
We offer unique and personalised farewells that capture the essence of the person we’re saying goodbye to.
We don’t hide from what we do – all our staff have lost loved ones and we know how it feels to be in each stage of grief. We offer you a safe space to share your funeral ideas and your grief and help guide you to plan the final goodbye that you want.
Compassion, care and kindness are the key qualities that we offer our families in their time of need and we believe it is a privilege and honour to care for your loved one.
We don’t see what we do as a job – but as a calling.
The Funeral Collective prides itself on supporting families in Tasmania to plan and create personalised farewells to capture the essence of their loved ones.
We believe in having a send off that reflects your loved one's personality and is a send off that they’d love to have attended themselves. We also believe in the right for you to choose what you want.
This can be a grand party with disco tunes and dancing or something simple and dignified. The choice is always yours and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Our director, Tracey, wrote a book called Dying Done Differently – which is an end of life blueprint – a space for you to record your wishes. This was the catalyst for the start of The Funeral Collective and doing funerals differently.
Changing the stigma around talking about death and dying and the dialogue about funerals is the motivation for advocating this change in our local community.
The Funeral Collective office has a small space in Devonport for private farewells (of up to 30 people) and we work with families to find the most appropriate place for larger send offs. This could be in the paddock at home, the local sporting club, at home in the garden, the beach or the local park.
We can of course facilitate any location including your local church if that’s what you’d like. The staff at The Funeral Collective are always on hand to answer any questions and to assist any time of the day or night should you need us.
Tracey is the driving force behind The Funeral Collective and Dying Done Differently (her book and funeral blue print) is a passion project that led to creation of the business.
Tracey has worked as a funeral director and has been a funeral celebrant in the local community for the last 10 years helping families create and deliver personal goodbyes.
She is passionate about making sure that there are no limitations to what you’d like to do for your final farewell and will advocate always on your behalf (even with your own loved ones after you’re gone if need be!).
Tracey is available to help families from the first call to the final goodbye along with offering advice and support for pre-planned and pre-paid goodbyes. Tracey along with Caleb is on call and available 24 hours.
Caleb has spent numerous years in the funeral industry as a funeral director and manager of a local funeral home. Caleb has great passion for the funeral industry and assisting the families of the North West Coast at their time of grieving.
Caleb can assist you to create the perfect farewell and can also assist with pre planning of your funeral and memorial plaques.
Caleb joins Tracey and Leon to make a difference in the funeral industry that has been based on making Funerals with a difference.
Colin's grandfather was a funeral director, as such he has had a lifelong interest in the profession. Having worked in the funeral industry for over ten years, entering after the death of his parents and witnessing the importance of a relevant and personal farewell. Colin has had significant formal training in mortuary practices and is passionate in caring for the families he assists, whether the role be in the mortuary, arranging the funeral service or in the role of celebrant.
Colin's motto for all he does: "Integrity is the art of doing the right thing when there are no witnesses".
Colin will help care for all of our families but particularly those down the Western end of the Coast.
You may have met our admin extraordinaire when you've popped into the office or called our number. She keeps us all on track - and here is Margys why!
After extensive experience in assisting families in other areas of the Funeral Industry - I was so pleased to see The Funeral Collective come together. I am proud to be in a position where I am able to assist and support families. Offer empathy, compassion and, if needed, someone to talk to. I want to create a positive, stress free and memorable experience to honour and celebrate the life of a loved one and for the family and friends to be able to remember this time with a sense of peace and pride.
Josh is the newest addition to our team here at The Funeral Collective. We love that we all have our own reasons for being in this industry - and below is Josh's why 🌿🤍
Hi i'm Josh, & most of my working life has been with people. Hospital wardsman - 10 years, Disability support work - 4 years and Remedial Massage therapist - 10+ years to name a few.
I love stories, and I love helping ppl who cant speak find their voice.
Do you like it when people really hear your story? i do! What a privilege & an honour to help those we've known & loved, to write some of the final words, @ the end of this chapter we call life! I often wonder when we do this well, can we, or our most precious ones have life after death?
The Funeral Collective offer various options for final farewells. We know that there are lots of variations on what people may want – so we have put together some indicative prices to give you an idea of what a funeral may cost with our assistance.
If you want to be super organised (and we love that) we can also sit with you and help plan your last party!
We offer pre-planned funerals and also pre-paid funerals in the way of bonds with Foresters Financials. Your funds sit with a third party and are used by your estate to pay for your funeral after you’re gone.
Your pre-paid funeral (regardless of who has arranged the details) sits with a third party so you’re able to move your final farewell to which ever funeral home you like when the time comes, as we know staff and funeral homes change hands over the years. This way you’re not locked in to somewhere that no longer fits your ideas – something that can be quite stressful in itself.
Give us a call or pop in to see us if you’d like us to help with helping to get your organised.
